Islands Koh Kradan
You will not
find many island companions on Koh Kradan if you decide to stay over for more
than your day-trip as there is only one resort on this tiny island which is as
big as four square kilometers. Nature is the prime aspect here—the atmosphere
is low-key, the beauty is wild and covered with corals reefs. The marine life
includes fish of different species and shades. Another fun activity on Koh Kradan
is kayaking. It will take you only a few hours to paddle around the island. During
your adventure you may find yourself saying ‘ooh’ and ‘aah’ when encountering
the most secluded small beaches at the back of the island. Fishing is also included
in the program for those who don’t want to go anywhere near the water. Divers,
snorkellers and swimmers alike will find Koh Kradan a rare paradise.
Koh Chuek Koh
Chuek is actually one of the four islands packed into the infamous ‘Four Island
Tour’ (Koh Ngai, Koh Muk, Koh Kradan and Koh Chuek). If your idea of a perfect
holiday is sun, sand and sea, then Koh Chuek is the right one to visit. The island
is known to have beautiful and colorful corals for snorkeling. The unmatched white
sand beaches and turquoise water make swimming more than pleasant. But it’s almost
a clich? as any island around Koh Lanta is breathtaking and as far as blue water,
white sand and pristine beaches go, each island has its own characteristic and
Koh Chuek also has something different from the rest. Not-too-serious divers can
explore colorful corals and fish in the narrow channel that separates the two
small mountains of the island. Although the sightseeing and thrills are limited,
the view justifies your time here. Koh Waen The
island has a round shape and has plenty of rocks. Island hoppers don’t spend too
much time here as there are no beaches although the view is stunning. You can
do as little as you wish when hopping to Koh Waen. Sometimes staring at nature
is quite refreshing on its own. Koh Talabeng Located
at the east coast of Koh Lanta Noi, Koh Talabeng is a limestone island similar
to Koh Phi Phi Lay. It is also famous in the itinerary of canoe and kayak trips.
To come to Koh Talabeng you don’t need to prepare a big-budget boat trip. Koh
Talabeng does have a beach but the scenic attractions are more lush green forest
than tropical shoreline. The mangrove greenery around the island is amazingly
beautiful. At Koh Talabeng, prepare to explore steep cliffs and caves. It takes
just a few hours to explore this island and you can do so during the low season
as Koh Talabeng is located at the east coast of Koh Lanta Yai and is not exposed
to the open water which makes it is less dangerous to take a boat at any time
of the year. Koh Bu Bu Koh
Bu Bu is a privately-owned island located on the east coast of Koh Lanta Noi and
is considered to be a secret getaway by many. There is one resort open during
the high season but going there is possible during the low season if you seek
solitude. Koh Bu Bu offers a private swimming experience as it is not featured
in the famous island tours, so you have to arrange the trip on your own if you
have an urge to visit every island around Koh Lanta such as this one.
Koh Po Koh
Po has a long stretch of sandy beach for swimming. It is possible to stay over
as there are a few resorts there. Located opposite the pier of Lanta Old Town
Village, Ko Po is a short sail from Koh Lanta Yai and is popular for tourists
seeking tranquility and those who don’t mind the low-key lifestyle. This is the
place to practice the art of doing nothing. Koh Po is a great island to watch
the sunrise. It is wise to visit Ko Po while it’s still wild and the natural beauty
is still well preserved. Because of its location and unspoilt shoreline, Ko Po
has the potential to attract more tourists and better resorts in the future, which
means it will no longer be just an island tour destination. It will become just
a destination, period. If you are the type of people who stay in luxurious hotels
when you come to Koh Lanta, it’s likely that your speedboat transfer will pass
the islands of Koh Bu Bu and Koh Po, just tell the captain or the crew earlier
in advance so they can slow down for you to have a look. It will save you one
island to see. And even though time is not a big concern during a holiday, it
is becoming one if you want to see all the islands around Koh Lanta.
